Best Monitors of CES 2024...

Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED (G80SD)

The Samsung Odyssey G80SD is highlighted as a significant monitor due to its incorporation of Samsung's 4K 240Hz QD-OLED panel. This panel offers sharp visuals, stunning display quality with high contrast, beautiful color reproduction, and excellent motion clarity. The monitor features a practical and professional design, showcasing a sleek appearance and an ergonomic stand that allows for a wide range of adjustments without occupying too much desk space. In terms of connectivity, it includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort, and a USB hub (excluding USB-C). While the availability and pricing are yet to be announced, it is speculated to fall within the range of $1,000 to $1,300, considering the pricing of other monitors with similar panels.

Samsung Odyssey G6 OLED (G60SD)

The Odyssey G6 OLED focuses on motion clarity, featuring a 27-inch panel with a 1440p resolution and an impressive 360Hz refresh rate. The OLED technology provides a super-crisp display with low pixel response times, offering an advantage in motion clarity compared to other panel types, resulting in reduced motion blur at any given refresh rate. While not considered the best OLED monitor available, it is still described as excellent. The pricing and availability details are yet to be announced, but an estimated price of around $1,000 or less is anticipated.

Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP

The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP is a 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor with an impressive 480Hz refresh rate, surpassing the common 240Hz of last year's OLED monitors. The design is considered more appealing compared to other monitors with the same accomplishment. The high refresh rate contributes to an incredible visual experience, with moving objects appearing nearly perfect, fine text remaining readable, and textures retaining even the smallest details. The display benefits from LG's Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, enhancing peak brightness to 1,300 nits. While the impact of this technology would require hands-on testing, it is anticipated to significantly improve HDR content with intense brightness. Unfortunately, the monitor is expected to ship in the second half of 2024.
