Framework Laptop hacked...

Framework, known for its serviceable and upgradable laptops, fell victim to a phishing attack that compromised names and email addresses of an undisclosed number of customers on its online store. The attack involved a social engineering tactic on Framework's external accountant firm, where the perpetrator posed as the CEO and successfully acquired a spreadsheet containing customer names, addresses, and outstanding balances. The stolen information was shared with affected customers through an email, subsequently posted on Framework's user forum and discovered by Bleeping Computer. While names and email addresses alone may seem limited for malicious purposes, there is concern that this data could be combined with other hacked databases, creating a more comprehensive dataset and potential for identity theft. Framework has cautioned affected users to be vigilant against emails purporting to be from the company.
